Welcome and thank you for your interest in Rhombus Systems, Inc.  This Privacy Policy describes the collection, use, and disclosure of your personal information by Rhombus Systems from (a) our website located at, including without limitation all sub-domains thereof on which this Privacy Policy is posted (collectively, the “Site”) and (b) any Rhombus Systems products, hardware, mobile applications or other software, or services available through the Site or otherwise offered or made available by Rhombus Systems, including without limitation via third party websites or services such as mobile application marketplaces or via email (collectively, together with the Site, the “Service”). The terms “Rhombus Systems,” “we,” “our,” and “us” refer to Rhombus Systems, Inc.  The terms “you” and “your” refer to the customer or user (including without limitation a Service User (as defined below) or individual user) accessing or using the Service.

By accessing or using the Service, you consent to the collection, use, and disclosure of your personal information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.  This Privacy Policy is incorporated by reference into and subject to the applicable Rhombus Systems Terms of Service, End User License Agreement, Terms of Use, or other similar agreement (the “Terms”), if any. 

The term “personal information” as used in this Privacy Policy refers to personally identifiable information that specifically identifies an individual (such as an individual’s first and last name, address, telephone number, e-mail address, credit card or other account number), and information about that individual or such individual’s activities or preferences when such information is directly linked to personally identifying information. Personal information does not include “aggregate information” or other non-personally identifiable information.  Aggregate information is data we collect about a group or category of products, services, or users that is not personally identifiable or from which individual identities are removed.  We may collect, use, and disclose aggregate information, and other non-personally identifiable information, for various purposes.


Active Information Collection

We may collect personal information that you provide to us in a variety of ways on or through the Service.  These include without limitation the following:

Registration or User Profiles. Our Service may give you the ability to register for a Rhombus Systems account or to create and update a user profile on the applicable Service.  If we offer user account or profile functionality on the Service, we will collect the personal information that you provide to us in the course of registering for an account or creating or updating a user profile.  This information may include, for example, name, postal address, telephone number, e-mail address, and related demographic information about you.  We may indicate that some personal information is required for you to register for the account or to create the profile, while some is optional. 

Correspondence. If you contact us by e-mail, using a chat box, or contact form on or through the Service, or by mail, fax, or other means (for example through a support or help forum available on or through the Service), we collect the personal information contained within, and associated with, your correspondence.

E-mail Newsletters. We may offer e-mail newsletters from time to time on the Service, if you sign up to receive a newsletter from us, we collect your e-mail address.

Interactive Service Features and Public Site Areas. The Service may contain interactive functionality that allows you to engage with other users on the Service, to post comments to forums, to upload content (“User Materials”), to participate in surveys via the Service or e-mail, and otherwise to interact with the Service and with other users.  If you use any interactive functionality on the Service that requests or permits you to provide us with personal information (including, for example, any features that allow you to post user materials on any of our services), we collect the personal information that you provide to us in the course of using these interactive features. 

Contests and Sweepstakes. We or our advertisers and other business partners may conduct or sponsor special contests, sweepstakes, and other promotions that users may enter or otherwise participate in on the Service. Certain of these promotions may be co-branded with one of our advertisers or other business partners. In these instances, the collection of your personal information may occur directly by the third-party partner on its website or other online service and may be shared with us. The promotion will state the privacy policy or policies governing the collection of such personal information.

Passive Information Collection

Automatically Collected Information. When you visit or use the Service, some information is collected automatically.  For example, when you access the Service, we automatically collect (a) your browser’s Internet Protocol (IP) address, (b) your browser type, (c) the nature of the device from which you are visiting the Service (e.g., a personal computer or a mobile device), (d) the identifier for any handheld or mobile device that you may be using (e.g., UDID), (e) the website that you visited immediately prior to accessing the Service, (f) the actions you take on the Service, and (g) the content, features, and activities that you access and participate in on the Service.  We also may collect information regarding your interaction with e-mail messages, such as whether you opened, clicked on, or forwarded a message.

Cookies. We may collect this information passively using technologies such as standard server logs, cookies, and clear GIFs (also known as “web beacons”).  We may use information passively-collected from the Service to administer, operate, and improve the Service and our other programs, services, products, websites and other systems, and to provide content and a Service experience that is tailored to you.  If we link or associate any information gathered through passive means from the Service with your personal information, or if applicable laws require us to treat any information gathered through passive means from the Service as personal information, we treat the combined information as personal information under this Privacy Policy.  Otherwise, we use and disclose information collected by passive means from the Service in aggregate form or otherwise in a non-personally identifiable form.

Location Information.  Rhombus Systems may offer certain features as part of the Service including in whole or in part based on your location, such as to locate the mobile device on which you have installed or downloaded an App (as defined below).  You will be given the opportunity to opt-in to location-based services, normally through an opt-in screen on the App.  If you choose to enable location-based services, we may collect your location based on information provided by you or the mobile device, including, if available, GPS, IP address or cell tower information.  If you do not opt-in to or choose to disable location-based services, you may not be able to utilize certain features of the Service, and if applicable, we may notify the Service User (as defined below). Without limiting the foregoing, even if you have not expressly granted Rhombus Systems access to location data, Rhombus Systems may nonetheless have access to location information contained in media content meta data, to the extent you have enabled the application originating such media content to capture and store location data. 

Video and audio data.  Rhombus Systems enables the recording and archiving of video and audio information from cameras.  This data might contain images of people or events.  Furthermore, this data is often analyzed with the purpose of providing you certain analytics about your video and audio data and provide configurable alerts.  

Environmental data. The cameras and other sensors often collect information about their surroundings including but not limited to temperature, air quality, nearby devices, and ambient light.  This information is used to both improve the quality of service and to provide additional information to you.   

Third Party Sites. Also, please be aware that third parties, such as companies providing certain features of the Service (for example, a map provider) or sites, services and products provided by third parties (“Third-Party Sites”) that may be linked to or otherwise made available through or on the Site, may set cookies on your hard drive or use other means of passively collecting information about your use of their services, Third-Party Sites or content.  We do not have access to, or control over, these third-party means of passive data collection.

Information from Other Sources

We may receive information about you, including personal information, from third parties (for example, Third-Party Sites that may provide chat box features on the Site), and we may combine this information with other personal information we maintain about you. If we do so, this Privacy Policy governs any combined information that we maintain in personally identifiable format. We may additionally receive your name, e-mail address, and other contact information from a Service User (as defined below) in connection with or in order to facilitate or enable your installation or use of the Service or you may provide the name, e-mail address, and other contact information of an individual in connection with or to facilitate or enable such individual’s installation or use of the Service. By providing such contact information, you represent that you have the right to do so, that you are not initiating such a communication for any improper purpose, including without limitation any unsolicited marketing purpose, and that such information may also be provided to the third-party service that you have designated to contact the individual.  Rhombus Systems stores and uses this information to send you or the individual, as applicable, an e-mail or otherwise contact you or the individual to register or enable you or the individual to download, install, or otherwise use the Service if desired or otherwise provide access to the Service, to provide the Service to you or the individual, and to track your or the individual’s use of the Service. You or the individual may contact Rhombus Systems at to request that Rhombus Systems remove this information from its database.


We may use personal information that you provide or that we collect in a variety of ways in providing the Service and operating the business, such as: (a) to provide the Service and other programs, services, products, and information that you or a Service User requests; (b) to analyze, enhance, develop, improve, operate, support, and maintain the Service and other programs, services, products, websites, marketing strategies, and other technologies or systems; (c) to prevent fraudulent use of our programs, services, products, websites, and other systems; (d) to prevent or take action against activities that are, or may be, in violation of the applicable Terms or applicable law; (e) to tailor content and other aspects of your experience on and in connection with the Service; (f) to maintain a record of our dealings with you; (g) for other administrative purposes such as to contact you for feedback about the Service, to conduct research about the Service, to provide anonymous reporting for internal and external purposes, to notify you of technical updates or changes in policy, and to contact you for marketing and promotional purposes; and (h) for any other purposes that we may disclose to you at the point at which we request your personal information, and pursuant to your consent.

We may also use personal information you provide to contact you regarding products, services, and offers, both from ourselves and from third parties, that we believe you may find of interest.  We allow you to opt-out from receiving marketing communications from us as described in the “Your Choices” section below.


We disclose your personal information in a variety of circumstances in the ordinary course of operating our business, such as:

Protecting our Interests. We disclose personal information if we believe that doing so is legally required, or is in our interest to protect our property or other legal rights (including, but not limited to, enforcement of our agreements), or the rights or property of others, or otherwise to help protect the safety or security of the Service and other users of the Service.

Corporate Affiliates, Service Providers, and Business Transfers. Rhombus Systems may disclose or transfer your personal information (a) to its corporate affiliates (for example, a subsidiary or parent corporation), (b) to its service providers (like fulfillment, hosting, or payment service providers), but only for their use to provide the requested service, or (c) to an acquirer, or successor or assignee of Rhombus Systems as part of any merger, acquisition, debt financing, sale of company assets, or similar transaction, as well as in the event of an insolvency, bankruptcy, or receivership in which personal information is transferred to one or more third parties as one of our business assets.  Rhombus Systems requires its service providers to agree to maintain the confidentiality of your personal information disclosed or transferred by Rhombus Systems to such services providers.

Public Areas. You should be aware that any information you provide in blogs, forums or similarly non-private areas of the Service may be read, collected, and used by others who access these areas, and this information is not personal information for the purposes of this Privacy Policy.  To request removal of your personal information from these areas, please contact us.  In some cases, we may not be able to remove your personal information, in which case we will let you know if we are unable to do so and why.

Aggregate Information.  Rhombus Systems may make certain automatically collected and other aggregate non-personally-identifiable information available to third parties to: (i) comply with various reporting obligations; (ii) for business or marketing purposes; or (iii) to assist such parties in understanding our users’ interests, habits, and usage patterns for certain programs, content, services, advertisements, promotions, and/or functionality available through the Service.


Your Information. If you have a user account or profile on the Service, you may access and update certain categories of personal information that you provide to us by logging in to your account and accessing your account settings.  If you wish to access or amend any other personal information we hold about you, you may contact us at  Generally such changes are reflected in active user databases promptly following such changes, but Rhombus Systems may retain archival copies of the previously provided information. You are solely responsible for maintaining the secrecy of your unique password and account information at all times. 

Your Choice. You may, of course, decline to share personal information with us, in which case we may not be able to provide to you some of the features and functionality found in the Service. If you receive commercial e-mail from us, you may unsubscribe at any time by following the instructions contained within the e-mail.  You may also opt-out from receiving commercial e-mail from us, and any other promotional communications that we may send to you from time to time (e.g., by postal mail) by sending your request to us by e-mail at or by writing to us at the address given at the end of this policy.  Additionally, if you have a user account on the Service, we may allow you to view and modify settings relating to the nature and frequency of promotional communications that you receive from us. Please be aware that if you opt-out of receiving commercial e-mail from us or allowing us to share your personal information with third-party organizations for their marketing or promotional use, it may take up to ten business days from the time that we receive your request for us to process your opt-out request, and you may receive commercial e-mail from us during that period.  Additionally, even after you opt-out from receiving commercial messages from us, you will continue to receive administrative messages from us regarding your use of any products or services available through or on the Service.


We suggest that when you link to or use any Third Party Site that you review that Third Party Site’s privacy policy, as this Privacy Policy does not apply to your activities or any information you disclose while using such Third Party Site.  Rhombus Systems is not responsible for Third Party Sites, including without limitation their privacy policies.  Our linking to or otherwise making available Third Party Sites does not constitute our sponsorship of, or affiliation with, those Third Party Sites.


Rhombus Systems has implemented physical, technical, and managerial safeguards in an effort to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, and destruction. Despite our efforts, however, Rhombus Systems cannot and does not guarantee the security of the information Rhombus Systems collects from you or that such information will not be accessed, disclosed, altered, or destroyed by breach or other failure of any of Rhombus Systems’ physical, technical, or managerial safeguards. You acknowledge that you provide your personal information at your own risk.


If you use the Service from outside of the United States, then you understand and consent to the transfer of information outside of those jurisdictions to the United States or other jurisdictions for the uses identified above in accordance with this Privacy Policy. You acknowledge and understand that each region outside of the United States may have its own privacy and data security laws, which may differ from the applicable laws and regulations of the United States.


We may revise this Privacy Policy from time to time, in accordance with the “Modifications” or similar provision of the applicable Terms.  When we do, we will also revise the “Last Updated” date at the beginning of the Privacy Policy.  Your continued use of the Service after such changes will be subject to the then-current policy.  If we change this Privacy Policy in a manner that is materially less restrictive of our use or disclosure of your personal information, we will use reasonable efforts to notify you of the change and to obtain your consent prior to applying the change to any personal information that we collected from you prior to the date the change becomes effective.  For example, we may send a message to your e-mail address, if we have one on file, or generate a pop-up or similar notification when you access the Service for the first time after such material changes are made. The amended Privacy Policy will automatically take effect 30 days after it is made available through the Service, except that (i) we generally only use your personal information in the manner described in the Privacy Policy in effect when we received that personal information and (ii) if you do not agree with any changes to the Privacy Policy, you may terminate your account or otherwise cease use of the Service.  Your continued use of the Service after revised Privacy Policy has become effective indicates that you have read, understood and agreed to the current version of the Privacy Policy.  We encourage you to periodically review this Privacy Policy to stay informed about how we collect, use, and disclose personal information.
